Chan delivered groceries to some of her patients on her day off as a way of checking in on them. Storefronts throughout the Chinatown-International District were boarded up after riots came through their neighborhood. Riots occurred nationwide over the death of George Floyd who died while in the custody of a white policeman in Minneapolis.
